16)What happen if the user has the firewall installed
in his PC?
A. The following instructions are provided as
guidelines for
configuring your firewall to accommodate
USB Phone operation:
1. Your firewall must support port mapping or forwarding.
2. Most firewalls have DHCP as their default
configuration. DHCP
allows your firewall to dynamically assign a
virtual IP address to
our PC.It is highly recommended that you assign
a static virtual IP
address to your PC,as you will need to map ports
to a single static
address. Consult with your firewall documentation
for details.
3. Configure your firewall to map the following
ports to the IP address
of the PC that is using USB Phone :
UDP Port 8481
UDP Port 8995
For example, if your USB Phone host
PC is at IP address
192.168.0.88,
then the appropriate configuration on your firewall
would be:
Port # Host Server IP
8481 192.168.0.88
8995 192.168.0.88
4. After saving your firewall configuration,
you are ready to make and/or
receive calls through your firewall.
With this configuration, you will be able to
call out and to receive
USB Phone calls through your firewall.
The only limitation is that
only a single USB Phone host PC can
receive a call at any given
time. |
